ABOUT US

I got my first Miniature Horse, Chance, in 2018 after owning and breeding "big" horses my entire life. I was like everyone else. I thought that Minis were these cute, short, fat, disproportionate little animals. I had no idea that it was possible for them to be pretty! When I purchased Chance, he had just been weaned and came from a show breeder. They taught me that Miniature horses could actually look like a big horse, but in a smaller package, and could in fact, be stunning! I learned all about showing, bloodlines, and training Miniature Horses. I developed a huge passion for these exciting little horses. I set out to get my first Mini mare, and start my very own breeding program, Take a Chance Miniatures, named after the horse who started it all, Dannas Take a Chance on Me.

Then came Diamond. A very opinionated, shy, chestnut mare. This girl really tested my patience. I had to learn to take my time, and not get frustrated. After a few weeks, I had earned her trust! She transformed into a confident, kind, gentle, yet still very opinionated mare. She came to me bred to a Multi-National Champion, and Multi-National Reserve Champion, Hall of Fame Stallion. Foaling out and training my first Mini foal was a dream. It made my passion grow even more. Now, I have my little herd, of little horses. My passion continues to grow, as I learn, and will be forever learning about these amazing horses.
